It is finally spring! The sun is out, the weather is getting warmer, and the trees are budding. With this kind of weather, it’s such a great time for hosting friends and family. If you’re going to be hosting soon, you might be looking for food ideas; specifically, appetizers! Because who doesn’t love a great app?!
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite spring appetizers. We hope you love them as much as we do!
Our Favorite Spring Appetizers
1. Spring Charcuterie Board
Here on mmmboards, we are big fans of a classic charcuterie board! You can make a charcuterie board that is big or small, depending on the size of your family or group. We have tons of blogs covering many charcuterie board recipes such as this Trader Joe’s charcuterie board, or this simple 5 ingredient charcuterie board. Essentially, a charcuterie board is a great option to assemble your favorite cheeses, meats, and accoutrements onto a platter. It’s easy and has something for everyone!
2. Crudité Platter
For Easter this year, I put together a simple crudité platter. I filled a wood charcuterie board with a few vegetables, carrots and cherry tomatoes. I put hummus inside of a white ramekin and also snuck in some pita chips on the board (at my husband’s request). Carrots and cherry tomatoes were already part of my dinner menu, so I just snuck a few extras of these vegetables out of the fridge and put them out for guests to enjoy as they arrived.
3. Marinated Cherry Tomatoes with Burrata + Toast by Half Baked Harvest
This recipe is a tried and true one from Tieghan Gerard over at Half Baked Harvest. I have made her Marinated Cherry Tomatoes with Burrata + Toast many times because it is so easy and seriously to die for! Because the cherry tomatoes need to marinate for a few hours, you’ll want to start this recipe well before your guests arrive. It’s easy to throw the tomatoes and other ingredients into a bowl in the morning and just let that sit. Part of her recipe is to rub a clove of garlic over the bread before toasting it, giving the bread incredible flavor. If you have the time to do this, it’s well worth the extra step! You wouldn’t believe how much that adds to the overall flavor profile of this dish.
4. Baked Brie Spring Appetizer
A super simple appetizer is to just bake some brie! Throw a wedge of creamy brie onto a pan lined with parchment paper. Personally, I like to drizzle a bit of honey onto the cheese. I then bake it for about 8 minutes (or until it’s melted to your desired amount) at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. When you pull it out of the oven, you can then just slide the baked brie onto a platter or board. Serve it with some crackers (here are some of our favorite crackers). Trust me, this won’t last long!
These spring appetizers are delicious and easy options for sitting outside and enjoying the weather or sitting inside during those spring showers! I know I’ll be making all of these apps this season.
