Brie is my husband’s favorite type of cheese. It is a soft and creamy cow’s milk cheese that is very pale in color and has a white rind. It’s one of my most-purchased cheeses for a charcuterie board.
How to Eat Brie
The best way to eat brie is to bake the cheese before you serve it. Baking the cheese is simple:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
3. Remove any packaging from the brie and set the cheese in the center of the parchment paper
4. Optional: add some toppings (see below) to the cheese. Our favorite is a bit of honey!
5. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the brie is entirely melted
Once you pull the brie out of the oven, I usually leave the baked brie on the parchment paper and transfer it to a board. You can also slide the brie off of the parchment paper if you’d prefer.
Baked Brie Toppings
As I mentioned above, I love drizzling a bit of honey on top of the cheese to add a bit of sweetness in. You can add just about anything to the brie – any type of jam or jelly is delicious! You can also add chocolate to your brie. Bacon and maple syrup are another popular combination.
Crackers for Baked Brie
I prefer a simple, sturdy cracker to pair with baked brie. I recommend eating it straight out of the oven, when it is at its creamiest point. I also love eating it with toasted bread! Although, selecting the best crackers for your charcuterie board really does depend on your personal preferences.
Needless to say, baked brie is a staple at our house whether we are having a party or I’m putting together a simple board for the two of us to enjoy on a quiet night in.
