Here at Mmm...boards we have two priorities: charcuterie boards & dogs. What better thing than to combine them and make a charcuterie board for dogs.
Thanks to Instagram and some creative dog-lovers out there who have shown us how, we’ve learned that it is possible to combine the two. Charcuterie boards for dogs. Yep, you heard that right. Also goes by Chewcuterie, barkuterie, and chowcuterie; whichever you prefer, it's guaranteed to be adorable. Actually, it also can be super nutritious for pups, especially when laden with fruits, veggies, and proteins.
What to put on a charcuterie board for dogs
Obviously, you aren’t going to give your furry friend a charcuterie board with the same ingredients as yours. The board needs to be dog safe, which means certain ingredients are out of the question. Here’s some of our do’s and don'ts for puppy charcuterie
Do Include:
Your dog’s favorite treats, training treats, meat strips and sticks, and kibble
Plain peanut butter
Plain yogurt
Plain hard boiled eggs
Carrots
Cooked, boneless salmon
Cheese (in small quantities)
Blueberries
Watermelon
Blackberries
Sliced apples
Strawberries
Don’t Include:
While these ingredients are appropriate in human charcuterie, they are unhealthy or even toxic for dogs to consume.
Grapes
Raisins
Avocado
Chocolate
Cashews
Macadamia Nuts
